Students write an advice column for other 6th graders on healthy ways to maintain weight. Ask students to respond one of the following questions: 1. I am at a healthy weight and am trying to maintain it. What advice can you offer for maintaining my weight? 2. I am overweight and don’t exercise. What can I do to reach a healthy weight? 3. I have been sick and have lost a lot of weight. What can I do to get to a healthy weight?
Advice must meet the following criteria: Address the question Fact/research based Practical and age appropriate Must be written in 6 complete sentences Due May 12th, 2020

Objective: Compare weight management strategies for healthy eating patterns, including attention to portion sizes. Lesson: Review 10 ways to downsize servings and Smart Ways to right your Portions. These items are attached. Homework: After reading the two attached files. Write a paragraph describing how well you control your portion sizes. Which instructions do you normally follow and which do you normally ignore? How could you improve your eating habits based on the information provided in the attached documents?
